Biography

Judy Burgarella has dabbled in arts and crafts all her life, but began the serious study of art in the year 2000 after career and family obligations were behind her. She took classes and workshops with locally renowned artists, and eventually launched a painting group, “The Shoreline Plein Air Painters” in Connecticut. Judy was eventually accepted into several prominent art galleries and became immersed into the art community, participating in many local and regional shows and earning numerous awards for her work.

In 2004 Judy moved to Florida and continued her art life there. Recently opening a new gallery with two partners, the “Florida Art Chix Gallery” in Vero Beach Florida, she continues growing her artistic influence through classes in the gallery space. Judy also has ongoing classes in the Vero Beach Museum of Art where she has served as an instructor for over ten years.

Judy is an Instructor/Member of the Vero Beach Museum of Art, The Vero Beach Art Club, the American Impressionist Society and the Cultural Council of Indian River County. She has served on numerous Art Club boards and Arts-related organizations, and as President of the Sebastian River Art Club, and is a passionate advocate for Public Art. Her mural work can be viewed at the Indian River County Administration Building A in Vero Beach, the Oceanic Research and Conservation Association in Vero Beach, and in private collections. Judy is available for Group and Private instruction, art parties, plein air painting, lectures and workshops in most mediums and subjects, at your location, in her gallery, or on Zoom. Commissions are also welcomed.

Artist's Statement

Art is a part of my DNA. I see everything through the eyes of an artist, and I hope to impart the value of this glorious gift to those whom I teach. The more I guide people in their painting life—teaching them the value and joy of creating art—the deeper I myself appreciate the inspired excitement of each new painting.
